Welcome

Dear McCorkle Parents and Guardians, 

On behalf of McCorkle Academy faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year.  We are so excited to get the year started. Your administrative team consists of myself, Deanna Harris, Principal, Amy Cannon, Assistant Principal and Scott Rodman Assistant Principal.  Mr. Rodman is joining our team this year.  He comes from a Two-Way Dual Language school in Oregon and has been an Assistant Principal for three years.   

School starts Thursday, August 4 at 9:10 a.m. for all students.  Students may be dropped off on campus between 8:30 a.m. and 9:10 at the far North Gate.  Breakfast begins at 8:30a.m. We are very lucky at McCorkle as any child who wants to eat gets free breakfast and lunch.   

Elementary students are dismissed at 3:25 and middle school students at 4:15. Parent pick up is at the North Gate and walkers exit out the southeast gate on Ingresso at the east end of the bus bay.  Parents, please help us by parking in the school parking lot or the overflow parking on the dirt lot on the corner of Ingresso/Mission.  Please do not park in the trailer parks or the property just by the McCorkle concrete sign on Mission as all of these are private property.  Do plan extra time the first few days for parent pick up as everyone gets used to the procedures in place.  

Currently, Pima County, is at a yellow stage for Covid transmissions. Masks are recommended. Attached Each week, Pima County updates their Covid transmission stage.  If we shift from one level to the next, we will send out a parent link advising of the new designation and any needed mandates.  Attached you will find the Covid 19 Masking Guidelines.  

McCorkle Academy is a green school and most communication will come via emails in Synergy and Parent Link calls. Updates may be found on our Facebook page and our school website during the school year.  Please make sure that your emails and phone numbers are up to date on your Parent Vue account in Synergy.  This will help ensure that school communication reaches you.
